Washington Today (4-18-25): Sen Van Hollen details Kilmar Garcia meeting in El Salvador prison

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) holds a news conference at Dulles Airport after flying back from El Salvador following his meeting with meeting with Kilmar Abrego Garcia in prison. The Senator again says Garcia was wrongly deported and calls for his release. And he says the photo of the two supposedly drinking margaritas is false, that government officials brought the glasses to the table to make it seem that way.

President Donald Trump again criticizes Sen. Van Hollen's trip and says Garcia is a violent gang member.

Dr. Mehmet Oz is sworn in as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), pledging to deliver great care to the American people, but warning that involves facing some truths, including that healthcare spending is growing faster than the economy.
